Brenda Bristow from TOMMIE'S AUTO & DIESEL TOWING of Walterboro, SC has received the prestigious American Towman ACE Award for achievement in service performance. Recipients were nominated by the nation's major motor clubs and dispatch centers, including: Allstate Motor Club, Asurion, Coach-Net, Cross Country Automotive Services, American Towing Alliance and Road America.

Specialty Rescue Services came about because Nate Bristow, owner of Tommies Auto and Diesel, saw an immediate need for a team such as this in Colleton County and across the state.

Nate hopes he can set the pace for the industry by utilizing his knowledge in the towing and recovery business, as well as a firefighter, to be a success. They were known as cowboys because they were employed by Cowboys Trucking in Walterboro.

They were working for contracts with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide services in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
